Faith And Peace
The Deputy Mayor of Redbridge – Chris Cummins will launch the event. This will follow by a performance of traditional Indian dance presented by Mayura Patel. There will be a series of five-minute talks by leaders of different faith groups in Redbridge, explaining the significance of peace in their religion. Speakers will include representatives from the Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Baha’i, Zoroastrian and Brahma Kumaris faiths. These talks should provide a fascinating insight into how different communities approach the shared aim of working towards a more peaceful world.
Following the talks, a range of refreshments, tea, coffee and soft drinks will be provided, and there will be performances of songs celebrating peace by the local band Echo, as well as a song on the same theme written and performed by Jason Swindle.
